The small community of Catholics on the Island of Cyprus are preparing for a once in a lifetime visit from the Pope. The island is mainly made up of Greek Orthodox Christians, but an influx of migrants has created a bustling catholic community. Jet2 has, in the past week, started to fly from East Midlands Airport, with its first flight heading to Paphos, Cyprus. In flying out of East Midlands airport, the company hopes to create around 250 new jobs. Flights will also head out to Lanzarote, Tenerife and the Islands of Crete and Corfu. There will initially be one aircraft based at the airport, but it is expected that from 2011, another plane will be added. Wowzers! 05/20/2010

There are beautiful holiday destinations in many parts of the world. It would be a shame to miss out on any of them, but where you live and how much time off you have can damper most of those dreams for most people. Thankfully, Europe has many great locations, making it easier for many to realize those travel dreams without spending a lot. For instance, you can find affordable flights to Paphos in Cyprus. This town is truly an incredible vacation spot, having lots to offer its visitors. For those vacationers that enjoy historical and archaeological sites as well as other interesting and fun things to do, then this is the place to go. Paphos has plenty of history and museums to peak the interest of all who absorb the way of life of ancient civilizations, but it also has plenty of modern day thrills and entertainment, too. Of course, located in the Mediterranean, it benefits from a wonderful climate that boasts sunshine for the majority of the year, and temperatures perfect for the beach. The sandy beaches stretch for miles, making it a great place to relax and soak up the sun. As for entertainment, there is lots to do and see. The nightlife is upbeat in certain parts of the island proving that it is a great holiday for everyone, including single people. There are restaurants that serve many international cuisines. No matter what your budget, you can definitely find places to have drinks, eat or have coffee, while people watching or taking in the breathtaking view. The popularity of this town has a lot to do with its location, i. E. It is close to the airport and even the capital of Cyprus. Well it has been a few days since my last post, so I thought I would fill you in on some of the goings on in Cyprus and obviously Paphos. The Beer festival kicked of on the 12th May 2010 within the Cyprus International fair. There will be upto 42 different draught and bottled beers so even more reason to get a flights to Paphos this year. The Airport 05/01/2010
